You’re our transformation girl. The one who went from painfully shy and hesitant to strong and creative.
You used to hate having a birthday party because you didn’t want people looking at you… you’d hang your head and cry, even when the closest people in the world were the only ones there! You would go on the playground at My School and be by yourself… you wouldn’t say anything in class. You didn’t have friends because you were too shy to say anything, even though you had plenty to say.
When you were four years old, Grammy (who’s always been your special buddy) used to tell you “Emma, you’re going to be Five and when you’re Five you will talk to everyone and have lots of friends.”
You must have listened because once you hit your fifth year you started changing… opening up… letting the curtain down… smiling… talking to people. Were we ever thrilled to see it… because the little girl who meant so much to us was now… confident in who she was. Between your fifth and sixth years you became a different person… made your first of many friends… laughed… talked to people.. spoke in school and even njoyed a birthday party with close friends and new friends too.
Your transformation – was a-m-a-z-i-n-g to witness. We were so proud of you and even happier for your happiness.
You are a little creative genius, and have been for years. During your quiet times you would always gravitate toward what you called “craft-ses” – arts & crafts projects of all kinds, from stickers to drawings to envelopes stuffed with special cards to paintings to sculptures. It’s a gift. You’re a gift.
Kind and loving, that’s who you are. You want to help others… always offering to do something… or doing it without being asked. It’s uncanny how caring you are; it’s so pleasantly surprising to see this in someone your age (or any age!) . You have a quiet peace to your soul that will feed you and others throughout your lifetime.
Emma, you will make the world a better place.
It’s fun to think about the future once in awhile. Looking in my crystal ball I’m guessing someday you’ll be a creative artist, a loving soul who’s also strong and visionary… with the independence and hootspa to conquer – and give back in her own, special way.
I created this blog for you to capture the stories of your life, the ones that capture your spirit and also feed my Papa soul. It will be a fun ride we take together. You’ll always be a special part of me and I will always love you very much.
